Mestre Albertino

Born in Beneditinos, Piauí, on 23 May 1958, Albertino learned to carve wood from an uncle in 1979. A year later he began working on his own account and selling his work.

He has taken part in the 9th University Salon of Santeiro Art at the Centro Artesanal do Piauí in Teresina (1983); the 9th Brazilian Craft Fair at the Biennial Pavilion in Ibirapuera, São Paulo (1986); the exhibition Artistic Expression in Wood in the central square of Parque Shopping, Brasília (1987); and a group show of artists from Piauí and Maranhão organised by FUNARTE in Rio de Janeiro.
