Mestre Maurício - Maurício Jonas Mendes da Costa
Born in Teresina, Piauí, on 18 October 1972, Maurício — young, talented and shy — began working on his own initiative at fifteen.
He seeks to develop and refine his technique by carving in wood in the santeiro and regional styles. Each piece he produces shows his gift and talent. Besides religious figures, he carves masks with a character of his own.
