Adilson Santos is a visual artist born in Poções, Bahia. He currently lives and works in Vitória da Conquista, Bahia.
A renowned artist whose work is recognised nationally by critics and gallerists across Brazil. Over the course of his career he has taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Brazil and abroad. His style is described as fantastic realism. With a fertile imagination and refined technique, he builds his works masterfully, mixing everyday scenes with magical and mysterious elements. In the artist's own words: “What stands out most in my work, what predominates in my contemporaneity, is the genius of colour, of drawing and of composition in the pre-Renaissance painters — the quattrocento — and in the Flemish artists.”
