About the artist
Born in Rome (26 June 1943), Lazio, Italy.
He moved to Brazil in 1953, living in several Brazilian capitals. In 1969 he travelled to Milan and attended the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera under Domenico Cantatore. In 1971 he went to New York and joined the Art Students League, developing and refining his study of painting techniques and the art of printmaking under Robert Brackman and Roberto De Lamonica. Back in Brazil from 1972, he held numerous solo and group exhibitions in public and private venues and, as a teacher, gave printmaking courses in Brazil and abroad. He worked as an artist and teacher at institutions including MAM, MASP and Paço das Artes in São Paulo and MAM in Bahia, where he created and coordinated several printing workshops. He currently investigates and develops techniques of painting, printmaking, watercolour, pastel, sculpture, mosaic and drawing in his studio.
