About the artist
Gladston Barroso is a visual artist born in São Cristóvão, Sergipe.
Gladston, as he signs his work — better known as Gal — teaches in the municipal and state school systems of São Cristóvão, where he is a well-known and notable figure. His work draws on modernism, cubism and the language of comics to bring faces and human figures to life, portraying local values and identity while joining humour, memory, popular culture and visual education.
