About the artist
Leandro Machado was born in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, in 1970. “I am of Xangô and of Obá.”
He holds a BA in Visual Arts with a specialisation in Painting and a teaching degree in Art Education, both from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, and a postgraduate specialisation in Mental Health at the São Pedro Psychiatric Hospital through the Integrated Health Residency of the Porto Alegre School of Public Health. He has taken part in group exhibitions since 1998 and has held several solo shows.
