About the artist
Luciano Maia is a visual artist born in Santarém, Pará. He currently lives and works in São Paulo.
Trained in fashion and graphic design, he develops his research around Amazonian folklore and narratives of enchantment, creating “contemporary queer folklores” that revisit the mythologies and regional memories of his childhood. His work is marked by regional mythology joined to personal memory, blended and reinvented through a mystical, dreamlike imaginary.
