About the artist

Lives and works in Juazeiro and Salvador, Bahia.

Born in Saúde, Bahia, she is a visual artist and assistant professor in the Department of Graphic and Three-Dimensional Expression at the School of Fine Arts of the Federal University of Bahia. She is a doctoral candidate in Visual Arts at PPGAV-UFBA and holds a master's in Visual Arts from the same programme, in the field of Artistic Creation Processes, as well as a teaching degree in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Vale do São Francisco (UNIVASF). She is a member of the Hybrid Art research group (CNPq/UFBA).

In her Lab-Oratório she develops work across multiple languages, giving rise to body-objects and image-words drawn from the foundations of what she calls Amefrican religions, with an emphasis on Umbanda.
