About the artist
Luiz Sisinno (Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, 1972) is a visual artist who lives and works in Niterói. He combines techniques and practices including collage, drawing, painting, photography and object-making. His research runs through questions of identity, gender, childhood and memory. He seeks a poetics in which fantasising and fetishising the individual are ways of exposing oneself, as well as means of accessing childhood memories and of rising up.
His solo show Amores Instantâneos was held at the Centro Cultural Justiça Federal in Rio de Janeiro in 2018. In 2023 he took part in Abre Alas 18 at A Gentil Carioca (Rio/São Paulo) and in Lampejos na Escuridão at the 12th Tiradentes Photography Festival. He holds a BA in Social Communication — Film from UFF and a master's in Communication and Culture from UFRJ.
