About the artist

Rio de Janeiro, 1962. Lives and works in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul.

A graphic designer since 1982, he began working in visual art in the early 1990s, joining a group led by the artist Luiz Ernesto. That experience resulted in several group shows and in his first solo exhibition, Cor e Coreografia, in which he investigated the pictorial possibilities of fusing the expressions of colour and choreographic movement. He then attended the open studio of the Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro under the artists Luiz Áquila and Alair Gomes. He was awarded at the 2nd UFRJ Art Salon and took part in the 16th Salão Carioca de Arte.
