About the artist
Born in Parnaíba, Piauí, on 13 October 1968, Mestre Toinho began working at thirteen, watching his father's technique and dedication — qualities he seeks to refine with each new piece.
He has exhibited at Park Shopping in Brasília and at the Ibirapuera Biennial in São Paulo. He placed second at the Santeiro Art Exhibition in Teresina and first at the Santeiro Art Exhibition in Parnaíba. He explores regional and santeiro themes with complete command, finishing his pieces strictly by hand with sandpaper and no coating.
