About the artist
Rafael Vaz is a visual artist, poet and educator, founder of the Ateliê Fábrica de Poesia. His research brings together painting, the word, performance and collective practice, crossed by questions of territory, memory, displacement and Afro-diasporic ancestry. He develops series that investigate symbols, flags and affective geographies, and gives workshops on visual poetry and creative process. His work seeks to bring art, community and poetic experimentation together across different languages.
