About the artist
Wendel is a visual artist who lives and works in Goiânia, Goiás.
He holds a degree in Letters from the Federal University of Goiás. His work centres mainly on ballpoint-pen drawing, exploring hatching as its central language. His subjects include self-awareness, finitude and silence, in images that often feature aquatic figures, scenes of drowning and the symbolic presence of the fish — especially the pirarucu. He is also part of MoVi, a life-drawing collective in Goiânia.
