About the artist
Augusto Herkenhoff is a visual artist born in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, Espírito Santo.
While studying law at Faculdade Cândido Mendes in Rio de Janeiro, he developed his artistic practice, studying painting with renowned teachers at the Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage between 1985 and 1988. Over his career he has taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Brazil and abroad. A prolific and multifaceted artist, he moves between drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. His style is marked by chromatic intensity and by the fusion of figurative and abstract elements.
