Júlia Valdelírio is a visual artist born in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul.
She trained in woodcut in the workshops of the Museu do Trabalho under Sara Winckelmann. Her work stands out for its “demotivational productions” — a sarcastic, ironic approach that turns everyday adversity into visual reflection charged with acid humour. The animals she often depicts are symbols: they represent people more faithfully than we do ourselves, a tragic but truthful touch.
